Stage 2018

Get rocking with LIVE music!

The Stage is always at the heart of the Pagan Pride UK festival. Our day begins there with the opening blessing at midday and ends there with our rocking headliners! People come from all over the UK to enjoy the fantastic music, LIVE in the fresh air and for free! In the past we've hosted amazing bands like international performers Inkubus Sukubus who will be there this year?

Programme

12:30: Corvus

Corvus are an acoustic duo with neo-folk tendencies and a love of the earth, who write memorable, meaningful & melodic songs. They play at a variety of events up and down the country, and write songs from the heart that explore their roots.

This year they'll be both opening the main stage and hosting our acoustic stage!

13:00: Dance break with Queen Cobra

Queen Cobra is an Egyptian and Cabaret bellydance who's been performing with Pagan Pride UK since the beginning. She and her partner-in-dance Seliya can often be found performing around Nottinghamshire.

13:30: The Heartland Roots Band

The current boom in Country Music has seen a number of UK acts see success on both sides of the pond, and The Heartland Roots Band are one of the up-and-coming groups bubbling under.

Formed in Leicester, England, the band play 'Heartland Rock' a genre which combines elements of Country, Folk, and Americana, with other rootsy influences such as Blue-eyed-Soul and Rhythm and Blues. South African vocalist Samantha Hobson's sweet soulful interpretations of writer Adrian Causier's songs, brings a pop sensibility to the material, which is all about bright, yearning, harmonies, backed by the typical Heartland Rock instrumental layering of 2 chiming guitars and a rock-tight rhythm section, all drenched in shimmering Hammond organ or electric piano.

Find them on Facebook and Spotify!

14:10: Dance break with Pure Bellydance

Pure Belly Dance is a dance school based in Nottingham promoting the art of Middle Eastern dance. Find out more on their website.

14:40: The Whiskey Rebellion

The Whiskey Rebellion are an eight-piece group of ragamuffins from the darkest depths of Leicestershire, hell-pent on a warpath straight to your eardrums. Featuring a line-up of banjos, accordions, mandolins, violins and more, these hare-brained misfits perform a non-stop maelstrom of folk punk and gypsy-style dance tunes, guaranteed to whip any audience into a frenzy of dance and decadence.

Find them on Facebook or check out their website.

15:20: Dance break with Way of the Wyrd

Way of the Wyrd are a border morris side, and the style originated from the English Welsh borders. They wear tatters and face paint and offer a boisterous sticking style of dance.

Find out more on their website.

15:50: Cadence Noir

Cadence Noir perform their own brand of high-energy folk, blues and Celtic rock! Since they formed in 2011, Cadence Noir have graduated from the Midlands open-mic-and-jam circuit to grace bills at major and independent UK festivals, support major artists at some of the country’s most prestigious venues, and tour in their own right, both nation and Europe wide.

2018 sees the release of their third EP, #FFBB, and showcases the band at their finest . . . Mainly. Live. Miss them at your peril!

17:00: Hærken

In times since long ago forgot
a band of bawdy bards did sing
and growl at all who pass'd to hear,
of Warriors & Kings…

Hærken are excited to be headlining at Pagan Pride UK this year, bringing the myths and legends of yester-year to the stage! The fables once perfected by the bards are brought to life in the thunderous & theatrical melodic metal.

Find out more about this incredible band on their website or find them on Facebook!

Excited? You should be! Each band/artist will have the chance to sell merch after their set, so bring some pennies to pick up albums, shirts and other goodies from your favourite bands.
